Adding our state’s self-response and non-response follow-up rates, nearly all Arkansas households were counted in this year’s census. Arkansas Counts enormously appreciates our partners and the tireless effort and support we received from the U.S. Census Bureau, Chicago Regional office.
We have faced unprecedented obstacles — a global pandemic, economic flux, and tremendous social unrest. However, Arkansas Counts partners were unwavering as they took action to Move the Count across our state despite everything that has happened this year.
Throughout 2020, we have learned a great deal. It’s never too early to prepare, and Arkansas will be ready to start planning for the 2030 U.S. Census starting in 2025. What’s more, Arkansas Counts has been one of the boldest, most inclusive collaborative efforts in our state’s history. We look forward to sharing more of what we have seen, heard, and learned alongside communities from our Get Out the Count efforts — keep an eye out for more in the coming weeks and months.
For now, it’s time to celebrate a job well done. We are excited to use resources 2020 U.S. Census data will bring to Arkansas throughout the next decade to continue to build a more prosperous, equitable place we are proud to call home.
